Green Point stadium is definitely going to be one of the main highlights of the 2010 FIFA world-cup. Approximately 2.5 billion rand is the extravagant budget for the sports facility that will seat 68 000.  The stadium is ideally located in the one of the most beautiful areas of Cape Town. With a backdrop of Signal Hill, the Atlantic Ocean a minute away and within walking distance to the V&A Waterfront, this world-class sports facility in Green Point is built to impress.

The exterior of the stadium has been a primary concern for stadium architects. The stretched fibre-glass mesh used on the exterior gives it a luminous, sweeping effect. On coming to Cape-Town, you will find that the aesthetics of the stadium are on par with all the breathtaking sights that can be seen in this diverse, cosmopolitan city.

The interior of the stadium has also been designed for optimal user experience. As a soccer enthusiast, you will be treated to two large screens to televise the matches, fifteen floors, 250 VIP suites, food and beverage facilities, basement parking for 1200 cars, a medical center and a police station on the premises. Special consideration has been made for people in wheelchairs. The stadium can accommodate 120 wheelchairs, and special ticket prices for people in wheelchairs have also been released.

The Green Point 2010 world cup stadium will host six first-round matches, one second-round match, one quarter-final and one semifinal match. Make sure that you don’t miss the opportunity to see this world-class stadium in the beautiful setting of Cape Town, South-Africa’s mother city.
